Anna, Sarah & Aaron's Story
By Lynn & Tim M
Adoption is a beautiful way to build a family! We have had such a rich, fulfilling experience adopting three children that we are always excited to share our experience with others. In fact, just to encourage such conversations, the license plate on one of our vehicles is "+ADOPT+"!
Our story began in 2001, when our two beautiful biological children, Abby and John, were 5 and 3. God put into our hearts the thought of adopting a baby, maybe two. We began by enrolling in the Cambodia program and then, when that program was closed by the government, switched to the China program. In September 2003, we brought home Anna Xiu-Ting, 11 months old. Anna is quiet, cuddly, and everybody loves her.
As soon as we could, we applied again to China. This time, we decided to adopt a Waiting Child, a 3-year-old girl who would require some surgeries to correct a birth defect. After careful consideration and consultation, we brought home Sarah Chen-Guo in March 2005. Sarah is "a trip", as they say. She's full of fire, energy, and humor. She's a handful! But it's so rewarding watching her grow.
Then, this past March, we fulfilled another dream by bringing home a beautiful baby boy from South Korea. We named him Aaron Min-Chan. He's an easy-going baby, well-loved by all of his siblings. In fact, it's a sometimes spirited competition to see who will get to wake him up in the morning and feed him!
We love all of our children, all of whom are so different. Adoption has been a very fulfilling experience for us and our family.
