Humanitarian Aid in Korea - Holt Children's Services
Wide Horizons For Children partners with Holt Children's Services to provide support for birthmothers and children with special needs. Our humanitarian aid work in Korea includes the following:
Holt Ilsan Center
Located in Goyang, Gyeonggi-do Province. This center is a special needs home which provides for 300 residents ranging from children to adults. The residents at the center suffer from conditions such as cerebral palsy, down syndrome, mental retardation, and emotional difficulties.
Holt Branch of Birthmothers Home
Located in Suwon City, Gyeonggi-do Province, the facility is home to 70 children. This facility operates a day care.
A Chime Ddeul
Located in Daejon City, Daejon Province. The objective of this center is to help unmarried mothers who are pregnant by providing them with a safe delivery environment and protection until they are stable. The home also provides special counseling and education programs for these women. The center can accomodate up to 50 women for the duration of up to six months after delivery.
