Humanitarian Aid in Russia - Past Projects
OUR WORK IN RUSSIA
Winter Clothes for Orphans in Tyumen
Russian winters are very cold and orphanages often lack the funds to provide their children with outdoor winter clothing. Wide Horizons For Children recently sent $10,000 to the Yarovsky Orphanage to provide 120 children ages 4-18 years with a set of warm winter clothes. The money will cover a set of fur hats, fur coats, and special winter pants for each child.
Psycho-Motor-Social Rehabilitation Equipment for Children with Special Needs in Moscow
The goal of the Center for Psycho-Motor-Social Development in Moscow is to create an environment that stimulates and encourages successful social adaptation of children who have physical, social, and/or learning disabilities. The Center provides parents and legal institutions, such as orphanages, with legal and medical support, and provides training for teachers who work in orphanages that care for children with special needs. To help the Center in their mission, WHFC provided funds for the purchase of medical and diagnostic equipment for their services. This equipment will go a long way toward diagnosing and treating psychomotor and social disabilities among Moscow's orphaned and abandoned children, and providing these children with an opportunity to integrate socially with their peers.
