Humanitarian Aid in China - Rural Orphanages

More than 83% of orphans live in institutions located in countryside villages that lack basic necessities. These children receive less aid from local and international organizations than their urban counterparts and are in particular need of support. WHFC is committed to providing aid to orphans and abandoned children living in the most impoverished conditions in rural institutions throughout China.

Suichuan Orphanage Project - Jiangxi, China

We have contributed $50,000 toward the construction of an entirely new orphanage for Suichuan Welfare Home in Jiangxi Province. The project is included among the "10 Key Projects" by the provincial government. The current facility only has the capacity to house 80 children and is located in a noisy, industrial, polluted neighborhood. The new orphanage, located in a quiet, rural area nearby, is expected to be completed in July 2008, and will house 200 children.

Past Aid to Rural Orphanages

Wide Horizons is dedicated to aiding marginalized orphanages in rural areas of China. These orphanages are the most destitute in the country, with many orphanages receiving less than seven U.S. dollars for a child each year. Over the past three years, WHFC has contributed more than $70,000 for improving Social Welfare Institutions across China.

Wide Horizons has funded the purchase of washers and dryers in orphanages in the following provinces: Guangxi, Hunan, Jiangxi, Henan, and Hubei. In addition, we have helped orphanages in the following provinces buy refrigerators, water heaters, and disinfectant equipment: Hubei, Guizhou, Jiangxi, Guangxi, and Hunan.

Dear WHFC,
Over the years we are filled with thankfulness to CCAA and all the people who have supported and helped us. Only with your help and support, the special needs children in our facility have developed and grown well and received rehabilitation services. Only with your help and support, the children in our facility have received timely medical care and better living.

Here we express our deep gratitude and wish people of all walks of life will continue to support our orphanage. We thank you again.
