Humanitarian Aid in Ethiopia - Addis Ababa

While there may be more resources in Ethiopia's capital than in other regions, a high percentage of orphans live in the capital. In fact, one in every five children in Addis Ababa is an orphan (higher than any other region of the country). WHFC provides continued humanitarian aid to Horizon House, our facility for children awaiting adoption.

Horizon House

Wide Horizons For Children currently operates two transitional homes for children who are being readied to meet their adoptive families. While our program fees support many of the services and staffing provided for the children, there have been and will continue to be opportunities to provide improvements through our humanitarian aid program. In a recent humanitarian aid activity for Horizon House, WHFC installed an industrial washing machine. This has been a real time-saver for the staff who previously had to wash all diapers, clothes, and bedding by hand.
