Humanitarian Aid in Cambodia

Cambodia has the highest infant and under-five mortality rates in the East Asia and Pacific region. Most of these deaths could have been prevented through immunizations, access to clean water, medical care, and proper nutrition. However, with more than one-third of Cambodia's population living below the poverty line, many do not have access to these basic preventaion measures. Orphans are at even higher risk of disease and death in Cambodia. Birthparents, children, and orphanages have little access to the support or resources they need, which is why our commitment to this country continues even as adoptions remain suspended since December 2001.

AOA strives to provide proper nutrition, clean drinking water, basic medical care, basic education, and a secure living environment for the children under its care.
