Omkar is an 11 year old boy whose parents are truly invested in their son’s education. Omkar is from a small village that unfortunately does not provide adequate schooling. His parents made the difficult decision to send their son to Mumbai to live with relatives so that he can have the quality education he so richly deserves. He currently resides in Mumbai in a 7 by 7 foot room that houses 4 of his relatives. This small rooms stands, not only as their living area but kitchen and bathing area as well. They share a community toilet within the building.

Unfortunately his parents both died of HIV/AIDS, but he still has the company of his brother. One of his favorite hobbies is playing soccer. In school, the topics he finds most interesting are science and math.
