Transforming Lives - One Child at a Time

In many impoverished countries, the needs of children are staggering. As a WHFC sponsor, your tax-deductible donation each year provides a unique opportunity to transform the life of a child.

Child sponsorship supports family permanency, making it possible for some children to live with their families in the country where they were born. Our programs also provide vocational training, job placement and long-term supervision for young adult orphans and other vulnerable teens eager to learn the skills they need to live independently. You will witness your sponsored child's incredible progress firsthand through annual updates, photos, and in many cases, letters and drawings.

We have seen the amazing difference sponsorship makes in the life of a child. Learn more about our efforst in Ethiopia, Guatemala, India, Moldova and the Philippines. To become a sponsor, visit our sponsorship signup page, or contact us at 800.729.5330 for more information. To sponsor a child in Moldova, please contact Julie Wilder Long at 781.419.0357 or jwilder@whfc.org.

Please consider spreading the word! Help more children begin the long climb out of poverty toward a more hopeful future. Share our child sponsorship brochure with friends and loved ones.

AIDS/HIV, famine, war and extreme poverty have taken an incredible toll on an entire generation in Ethiopia. For many children, one or both parents have died.

Children enrolled in the Guatemala Sponsorship Program range in age from 1-17 years. Most live with their birth families in extreme poverty, often in single-parent homes, in barrios in or near Guatemala City.

Thousands of children live in India's slums, often in one-room, makeshift homes with large families. Although their parents may work as vendors or laborers, they rarely make enough money to pay for food and utilities.

The poorest country in Europe, Moldova struggles with high unemployment, caring for children in state institutions and persistent reports of human trafficking. Child sponsorship is helping vulnerable young adults receive vocational training, job placement and the skills they need to live independently.

WHFC sponsors 75 special needs children living in family-style cottages at Chosen Children Village. It is unlikely that these children, who require round-the-clock care to meet their basic needs, will ever be adopted.
