WHFC's Mission

The mission of Wide Horizons For Children is to help each child, regardless of the country or circumstances of birth, experience the security of a loving, permanent family.

This is true regardless of that child's country of birth or their life circumstances. When possible to do so, a child should be raised by their family of birth. When this is not possible, adoption can give a child the commitment of family who will provide emotional and financial support as well as an education leading to a bright, healthy and productive future.

We believe that adoption is a lifelong process and that parents need specialized services both before and after the placement of a child. We provide preparation for adoption, post-placement supervision, on-going post-adoption counseling and cultural, educational and social events.

We know that parents will need a wide variety of specialized services while in the process of adopting and further down the road. At Wide Horizons, we are committed to providing those services so that our families know that we are available to help them now or in the future.

We believe in providing objective, supportive counseling to enable expectant parents to make the best parenting plan for their child and for themselves. Should expectant parents decide not to parent their child and choose to make an adoption plan, we will help to guide them through the process.

Expectant parents looking at the option of adoption need to make this decision with a full understanding of their choices. For those who are experiencing an unplanned pregnancy, our goal is help them make the best plan for themselves and for a child.

We are committed to providing humanitarian aid to benefit children around the world, particularly those who are waiting for a family or may never be adopted.

All over the world there are children waiting for a family. Unfortunately, many of these children are not eligible for adoption. It is crucial that these children are not forgotten. We encourage our families and agency friends to join us in that work.

We are committed to providing financial assistance that will make it possible for more people to afford the cost of adoption.

Financial assistance enables a greater number of people to afford the cost of adoption. Granting subsidies to qualified candidates enables us to provide more loving homes for children.
