• Wide Horizons For Children (WHFC) is a child welfare agency committed to family permanence for orphaned and at-risk children through adoption, child sponsorship, and humanitarian aid. Our priority is the best interest of the child, and we are committed to the highest ethical practices in the US and overseas.

• WHFC has provided more than $13 million in humanitarian aid to help improve the lives of vulnerable children worldwide since the agency was founded in 1974.

• Based in Waltham, Massachusetts, WHFC is the largest adoption agency in the Northeast and a leading provider of adoption services in the US. We have helped place more than 12,000 children from 60 countries. WHFC works with families in all 50 states, and helped place 338 children in 2010.

• WHFC works with trusted partners around the world and offers long-standing adoption programs in Asia, Africa, Latin American, Russia and the US. WHFC also helps place children through our parent-initiated program, which allows families working with another child placement agency or personal contact to use our services.

• We have a special commitment to finding homes for children in immediate need of a family, including older children, those with special needs and sibling groups, through our WHFC Horizon Kids program. We award financial subsidies to help qualified families adopt these children each year. Grants come from generous donors who understand the financial commitment facing the many wonderful families who wish to open their homes to these children but are unable to do so without financial assistance.
