Program Criteria
Marital Status: The Ethiopia program is open to married couples and single women. Couples must have been married for at least 2 years at the time of referral.
Age Requirements:Applicants must be between 25 and 55 years of age. For married couples, at least one spouse must be under 55 years old. Couples over the age of 50 should be open to adopting older children. Single women over the age of 50 are eligible to adopt children 4 years of age and older. Adoptive families hoping to adopt an infant will need to be under 48 years of age at time of application to the Ethiopia program.
Other:Applicants must have no major medical or criminal histories. No limitations on the number of children in the family exist at the present time. Adoptive families must have a household income of at least $30,000.
