Ethiopia Adoption Program: The Process

Families adopting infants and toddlers between 0-18 months of age should be prepared for a wait time of 14-18 months for referral; for children 19-36 months of age, the wait time is 1-12 months. Families adopting children over the age of 3 years or older sibling groups should be prepared for a wait time of 1-6 months for referral; for sibling groups under 4 years of age, the wait time is 6-18 months. The time from referral to travel is 2-4 months.
