Children Available

Request an Info Packet

Healthy infants, as well as some infants and toddlers with special needs, are awaiting adoption. All families applying must be open to an infant of either gender, or can request a boy. Korean adoption law requires that children be available for up to 6 months for domestic placement before being referred for international adoption. Therefore, children are likely to be 6-9 months or older at time of referral. Typically, children referred will be less than 12 months old.

While in Korea, children are cared for either by Holt approved foster families who live in the greater Seoul area or in the Holt Reception Center in Seoul, which is a well-equipped modern facility.

Waiting Children

Waiting children from Korea include healthy infants and toddlers, as well as some with minor medical diagnoses. While WHFC's Korea program is open to families living in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, New York and Florida, waiting children from Korea may be placed with families throughout the United States. Waiting children from Korea can be viewed in the Waiting Children section. Be sure to read about our subsidies available for the adoption of waiting children.
