The Children
WHFC is currently able to accept applications for children age 9 and older and waiting children. The children are of Asian/Malay/Spanish descent, and come from orphanages and foster care throughout the Philippines.
The most common reasons for these children becoming available for adoption are:
- social reasons
- economic conditions
- legal decision
- death of parent(s)
Waiting Children
Waiting children in the Philippines are referred to as children for "Special Homefinding" due to their age, special needs, or status as members of a sibling group. Most children for Special Homefinding are healthy children 9 years and older, children with more major special needs who are age 8 and under, or sibling groups who are school-age. Waiting children from the Philippines can be viewed in the Waiting Children section.
