Country Information
The Philippines is a country of much natural beauty, not the least of which is the warmth and kindness of its people. Because the Philippines was governed by the United States during the first half of the 20th century, English is spoken throughout the country and there is a very positive feeling toward Americans. Many Filipinos have relatives in the U.S. and they feel that the children adopted into families there are very fortunate!
It is warm year-round in the Philippines, with many lovely beaches. There are 80 languages spoken with Tagalog (or Pilipino) being the national language. The Philippines is a country in which religion is extremely important. Catholicism is the primary religion of the country.
