Program Criteria
Marital Status: Couples with a formal relationship of at least three years (legal marriage; or one year marriage plus two years living together) may adopt from the Philippines. Single applicants need to be open to adopting a child 6 years old and above of either gender with minor correctable medical conditions or difficult background information in the history.
Age Requirements: Adoptive parents ages 27-47 may apply to adopt children 24 - 36 months of age or older. Adoptive parents over the age of 47 may adopt a child age 4 or older. The adoptive mother or primary caregiver should be no more than 45 years older than the child.
Other: The Philippines requires at least five years of consistent church attendance by both adoptive parents and a commitment to raise their child in a religious tradition. This program is not recommended for clients living with a person of the same gender.
