Program Criteria

Marital Status: The Russia program is open to couples and single women. There is no set minimum for the number of years of marriage required.

Age Requirements: The adoptive mother should be no more than 45 years older, and the adoptive father no more than 50 years older than the child they wish to adopt. Exceptions may be made on a case by case basis when a family is interested in adopting an older child or a child with special needs.

Other: The Russia program is not recommended for clients living with a person of the same gender. Applicants with a complex history (e.g., physical health, mental health, past arrests) may not be eligible to adopt, but will be considered on a case by case basis.
