This year, Wide Horizons has brought hope and assistance to thousands of orphaned, abandoned and at-risk children around the world. Our vision is to expand and deepen our humanitarian aid efforts, focusing on areas where our funding can be most effective.

Dear Wide Horizons Family,

During this special time of year, our thoughts turn to our families and our children. It is also a fitting time to turn our thoughts to those children who live each day with little hope and go to bed each night with little cause to celebrate. As adoptive parents, we have had a glimpse into the plight of children growing up in desperate circumstances, without the security of a loving family.

Each year, Wide Horizons For Children reaches out to our amazing network of families to help support our growing humanitarian aid work. It has been incredible to witness the generosity with which you have responded. Funds from our Annual Appeal have made an enormous difference to our programs and services overseas. With international adoption becoming an option for even fewer children, our focus on supporting the children left behind is more crucial than ever.

In our Annual Appeal flyer you can see a sampling of what your support has accomplished for children over the past year. We have upgraded neglected and under funded orphanages in Eastern Europe, provided nutritional support and education to hundreds of children in Latin America and improved living conditions for special needs children in Asia. In Ethiopia, our focus has been on educational and medical services along with grassroots family empowerment programs and child sponsorship. There is so much more to do but with our commitment and the generosity of our families and friends, we can continue to make real change happen.

As you celebrate the joys of family this holiday season, please accept my wishes for peace, health and happiness. And please join me in giving generously to children, like our own, who have given us all so much.
