Children in the Philippines, like all children, need both physical and emotional care, as well as food, medicine, toys, and good caregivers who will make them feel valued and loved. Their minds need stimulation to promote good development. All of these are more possible when there is enough funding to go beyond the basic necessities of daily life to give a child a real chance to develop well.

Medical Funds

Wide Horizons For Children has made possible the establishment of a Medical Fund at many children's institutions in the Philippines. Because medical care such as hospitalizations and medicine is quite expensive, many of those organizations find it difficult when children become ill. Through our Medical Funds, Wide Horizons is ensuring that children will receive the care and treatment they need.

Foster Care

Support of foster care programs is another way in which Wide Horizons helps children in the Philippines. The stimulation and physical care in these homes gives children a better chance to develop well and reach their full potential.

School and Daycare

Wide Horizons' support of school and daycare programs associated with children's institutions is also very important because they provide children with the basic learning tools they will need to succeed in the future.

Humanitarian Aid to Children's Institutions

Children's institutions in the Philippines serve many children in need. Through the generosity of our donors, Wide Horizons is able to provide much needed support on an ongoing basis to these organizations in ways such as those mentioned above.

Chosen Children Village

Wide Horizons works directly with Chosen Children Village, a home for children with special needs who would not otherwise be able to receive the care they need. There are many cottages where the children live, a school, a rehabilitation center, nutrition center, and a clinic/administration building which was built with funding provided by Wide Horizons.

Heart of Mary Villa

A home for unwed mothers who are given excellent counseling to help them decide whether to place their child for adoption or parent him/her. If they decide to place their child, he/she is cared for in a loving environment at Heart of Mary until adoption.

General Humanitarian Aid Support

Wide Horizons continues to work with existing partners, in addition to sending agency representatives to the Philippines in order to identify new projects in desperate need of our funding. With your help, Wide Horizons can continue to respond to the urgent needs of children in the Philippines.
