Humanitarian Aid Projects by Country

Over the past 30 years, Wide Horizons has donated over $10 million to needy children around the world. Through our Humanitarian Aid program we provide vital goods and services to children in orphanages and hospitals and respond to emergency care situations. Our ongoing concern is to not only improve the quality of care for the children waiting to be adopted, but also for those children who may never be adopted. We have been able to make a lasting difference in the quality of life for many, many children.

Some of the often desperate needs of orphaned and abandoned children around the world include:

• A child in China with no hope will see a brighter day with the Tomorrow Plan, a national relief effort to fund corrective surgeries for orphans with physical deformities.
• Children in Ethiopia, caught by the devastating effects of HIV and famine, are in critical need of life-saving medicine and supplies.
• In Ukraine, hundreds of children face another harsh winter at Boyarka Orphanage and we must urgently fund the renovations for a heat and hot water system.
• The Orhei Orphanage in Moldova, a home for special needs boys, is in dire need of specialized equipment and medicine.
• In Russia, thousands of children waiting in orphanages count on donations for their most basic needs: food, clothing and decent living conditions.
