Humanitarian Aid in Ethiopia

The needs of children and families in Ethiopia are staggering. The experience we have gained through decades of work in other countries has allowed our organization to thrive quickly in Ethiopia and identify several programs supporting orphans and other at-risk children. As we strive toward a goal of community empowerment and development in Ethiopia, we are working to integrate our adoption, child sponsorship, family empowerment and humanitarian aid programs in several regions of the country. In addition to Child Sponsorship programs in all regions, our work is focused in the Sidama region in the south and the northern region of Tigray. We also provide ongoing support to our child-placing facilities in the capital of Addis Ababa.

	SIDAMA ZONE (Southern Ethiopia) Sidama lacks the infrastructure to support more than subsistence farming, which remains economically crippling for much of the population.
	TIGRAY REGION (Northern Ethiopia) In a country characterized by severe deprivation and poverty, Tigray stands out as the country’s most desperate area.
	ADDIS ABABA While there may be more resources in Ethiopia's capital than in other regions, there are still a large number of orphaned children there in need of care.
CHILD SPONSORSHIP Through our sponsorship program, a child and his/her family is provided with much-needed financial support in order to create an opportunity for improved nutrition, shelter and education.
