Adoption Fees

A comprehensive list of fees required to complete an adoption from all of WHFC's adoption programs is available in our downloadable information packet.

In addition, information about ways to help finance your adoption can be found in the Adoption ABC's section.

Total adoption fees vary depending on the range and type of adoption services provided by the agency, the adoption program selected and the related adoption expenses, including travel. If you are comparing fees between different agencies, it is important to note exactly which services are included.

Fee payments are scheduled throughout the process, based on the stage of the adoption. WHFC adoption services and fees are grouped into three stages:

Pre-Placement

  • New Family Registration
  • Agency Fee – Part I & II
  • Home Study Services (Not applicable to Placement Services families)

Child Placement

  • Program Services - WHFC program services coordination, country-specific education, case management & support, dossier assistance, translations, child referral, travel support and post-placement report processing.
  • Humanitarian Aid Fee - Supports WHFC’s humanitarian aid efforts worldwide.

Post-Placement

  • Post-Placement Services -Includes post-placement visits, reports, clinical services support as required by regulations and foreign governments. (Not applicable to Placement Services families)
