Report From India

Saturday, May 31 — Day 5

Hello All!

Here we are, still in India! All is settling in well here, and each day brings a little more adventure to our world. Karanti is settling in so well, and enjoying new things each day. Swimming has been a big hit, and she laughs aloud when Steve dangles her into the pool. I have stayed away from swimming, having seen no other woman at the pool, and no other woman's legs since being on this trip. It is fun to watch all of the others splashing around though.

We have been spending quiet days in our hotel, playing, ordering room service, and just being together. It is a funny thing to be in India and in the hotel so much, but it is great to have this time to just be. We do venture out during the cooler hours, and see the streets around our hotel. They are full of vendors (amazing mangoes and bananas!!), shops, and people!

Karanti is finding her way into the fabric of our family - rivalry has started a bit. It is kind of nice to see Karanti wanting to squeeze her way in. There have been isolated moments of worry in her face, but mostly she is just moving right with us. Willie is so protective of her, watching her every move and making sure that she is in the right place and safe. Zosha wants to play all the time with her.

We stayed an extra day in Pune, and leave for Delhi tomorrow morning. We spend Monday doing visa work at the embassy, and then play for two more in Delhi. It is amazing that this trip is already half over. Time does fly...
