Friday July 10-Sunday July 12 University of New England Biddeford, Maine
ECC 2015 will be held at a campus of the University of New England, located on a beautiful site in Biddeford, Maine, where the Saco River flows into the Atlantic Ocean. It is about 1 hour and 40 minutes north of Boston, not far off Rte. 93 north.
The camp runs from Friday afternoon through Sunday afternoon, and allows both Ethiopian-American and Ethiopian adoptive families a weekend of activities connecting them with Ethiopian culture. Among the offerings at camp are language, culture and cooking classes, eskista (shoulder-dancing) lessons, programs for children and teens geared to specific age groups, endless games of soccer, Ethiopian movies, music, singing, hair-braiding and unending impromptu gatherings. Saturday night we will have an Ethiopian Banquet and dance, so plan to bring your Ethiopian clothes and your dancing shoes!. On Sunday morning we will have our annual Fun Run for all ages.
The campus offers comfortable suite-style accommodations. It also provides lots of open space for running and games, sports facilities, a dining hall, and a small swimming beach.
The camp cost includes housing and linens, meals, programs, and all activities for the weekend: $275 per person ages 4 and over. $125 per child age 3. No cost for children 2 and under.
