We are excited that Geraldine has donated the opportunity for your book club to come to Martha’s Vineyard. Geraldine will suggest sites to visit that inspired scenes in Caleb's Crossing. She will then host your group for coffee at her 1720s West Tisbury home, the inspiration for the Merry farm mill house and the site of the first grist mill on the island, built in 1665. This auction experience is for up to 10 people on a mutually convenient date within the next 12 months.

Australian-born Geraldine Brooks was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in fiction in 2006 for her novel March. Her most recent novel, Caleb’s Crossing, was a New York Times best seller. Other novels, Year of Wonders and People of the Book, are international bestsellers, translated into more than 25 languages. She and her husband adopted their younger son Bizuayehu from Ethiopia with the help of Wide Horizons For Children.
FROM 128 HEADING WEST – Take Route 2 to Route 126 South. Pass Walden Pond. About a mile after the pond, take the first right turn after Walden Pond onto Old Concord Road (NOTE THAT THE SIGN SAYS “ NO THROUGH TRAFFIC” but take it anyways). If you reach the white church on Rte 126, you have gone too far. About a mile down, turn left onto Red Rail Farm Road. There is no sign on the street, but there will be balloons and a greeter. Volunteers will help you from there.
FROM 117 HEADING WEST – When you get to 126 North, turn right. Pass Codman Road on your right and then a white church on your left. Turn left onto Old Concord Road which is the first left turn after the white church. (NOTE THAT THE SIGN SAYS “ NO THROUGH TRAFFIC” but take it anyways).
