• WhatWeDoRevised

Adopting a child is one of the most life-changing decisions you will ever make. As one of the nation’s leading child welfare and adoption agencies, we have helped place more than 13,000 children from nearly 60 countries with permanent, loving families. Wide Horizons For Children was also one of the first agencies to receive Hague accreditation as a national adoption services provider.

We work with trusted partners around the world, and offer well-established adoption programs in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the United States. We also help place children through our parent-initiated program, which allows families working with another child placement agency or personal contact to use our services.

Working with Wide Horizons For Children

We work with families in all 50 states. Every state requires adoptive families to complete a home study with a licensed social worker as part of the adoption process. Families must also complete post-placement requirements after their child arrives home. These requirements vary by state and the child’s country of birth.

We are licensed to offer home study and post-placement services in 7 states, including Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Vermont and many counties in New York. Most families living in these states work with us for these services. Families living in all other states work with one of our partner agencies to complete their home study and post-placement requirements.
