JaniceHoffman Janice Hoffman, President and CEO
"It is an honor and privilege to be at the helm of this amazing organization. WHFC is dedicated to finding solutions for orphaned and vulnerable children around the world struggling to survive without a permanent or stable family to care for them. As an adoptive mother of two children from Latin America, I have experienced the tremendous joy our children bring firsthand, and have also seen the desperate circumstances that far too many children experience. Together with our dedicated board of directors, talented staff and generous donors and advocates, we are expanding our child sponsorship and orphan care programs, bringing hope and a better life to tens of thousands of children each year."

SarahMraz Sarah Mraz, Director of International Programs
“WHFC takes great pride in serving children around the world who are in desperate need of parental care. Ethical practice and the child's best interests are the principles guiding the programs we develop. Our competent, efficient staff in the US and overseas understands the urgency of uniting vulnerable children with their forever families in the soonest possible time frame, recognizing that each day spent outside of parental care leaves its mark on a developing child. We are proud to be advocates for children in need who have no one to speak for them.”

MaryanneLudwig Maryanne Ludwig, Director of Family Services
“It is my privilege and pleasure to ensure that our adoptive families are well educated and supported before, during and after their children come home. Our dedicated, compassionate social workers and partner agencies across the US play a key role in this effort, assisting families through the home study, post placement and post adoption phases. I am also proud to guide the efforts of our outstanding domestic team serving children born in the US, as well as our exceptional administrative staff, who consistently puts the needs of our families first.”

TsegayeBerhe Dr. Tsegaye Berhe, Director of Africa Programs
“I have been so very blessed to be able to dedicate my life to helping orphaned children in Ethiopia for the last four decades. Because of WHFC, close to 13,000 children at great risk have been placed in permanent, loving families. Many of these children would have died if they had not been adopted. When an Ethiopian child is adopted, the child does not lose his or her heritage; instead, the entire family becomes an Ethiopian-American family. Moreover, I am very proud of WHFC’s community development programs. Our sponsorship and aid programs are helping so many children gain access to schooling and medical services. I very much thank God for giving me the privilege to be part of WHFC.”

LucyHulce Lucy Hulse, Chief Financial Officer
“We appreciate the passion donors and adoptive families bring to our mission to improve the lives of vulnerable children. Since adoption can be a significant financial undertaking for many, WHFC has a established subsidy programs and partnerships to help ease the burden, and provides other sources of funding and tax benefit information on our website. Moreover, we offer donors a myriad of options to help support our work, from donations in honor or memory of loved ones to volunteer opportunities in the US and Africa.”
